TWIN Hoops Travel teams are dedicated to teaching good sportsmanship, discipline, team work and good character to players who bring a willingness to learn and improve and flourish. T.H. cares about each player’s development and wants all players to have fun and enjoy themselves in a safe environment.
 
T.H. has a talented and knowledgeable group of coaches who have dedicated their time and energy to making sure all players receive the best instruction possible.

Currently, T.H. teams consists of boys 8th (14U), 9th (15U), 10th (16U) and 11th (17U) grade teams and a girl’s 10th (16U) grade team but more teams are planned.  In order to be eligible please see Travel Team Rules on Home Page.

To help you get a better understanding about TWIN Hoops Travel Basketball Teams, the following are the most Frequently Asked Questions concerning playing for T.H.  Answers to more specific and detailed questions are handled by each travel team coach. 

Why TWIN Hoops Travel Teams?
TWIN Hoops Teavel coaches are dedicated to teaching good sportsmanship, discipline, team work and good character to players who bring a willingness to learn, improve and flourish. T.H. cares about each player’s development and wants all players to have fun and enjoy themselves in a safe environment. We are a close-knit, cohesive and comprehensive basketball organization that cares about each player from the youngest to the oldest.

How do I play for a TWIN Hoops Travel Team?
Formal tryouts are conducted for each grade category. Tryouts for teams are typically held in February.  We hold tryouts for both current and new participants looking to play with us.  We Do Make Cuts.

How long is the season?
In general, the Spring/Summer session runs from February to July.
The Winter/Fall session runs from October to January.

How much does it cost to play for TWIN Hoops Travel Team?
The cost is $475.00 per player for the Spring/Summer session. That fee pays for practice facility time, insurance, a reversible practice jersey, shooting shirt, team bag and tournaments. Team sweat suits, socks, slides and other apparel are optional and the responsibility of the player.  Fees are due upon making a team. Payment arrangements are case by case if needed and would need to be handled by the director of THS.
The cost is $325.00 per player for the Fall/Winter session.

Do the players wear uniforms?
Yes.  All TWIN Hoops Travel Teams wear official T.H. apparel at all times while representing the organization.
Game uniforms are provided by the organization (TWIN Hoops Sports).  All uniforms are to be returned at the end of the season to your respective team coach.

What type of schedule does a TWIN Hoops Travel Team play?
The schedule is determined by each travel team coach.  In general, the teams play twice a month or more and travel locally & regionally (Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland).
It may also include Regional & National Championship play for AAU and/or NTBA tournaments.
Players (parents/guardians) are responsible for transportation to and from competition site(s).

How many practice days per week are there?
Teams typically practice twice a week (subject to change). Practices last anywhere between 1.5 to 2 hours.
Players (parents/guardians) are responsible for transportation to and from practice.
